iPhone handy? www.deviantart.com
Purpose: For those of you who don’t know, deviantART is an image sharing platform which allows artists and photographers to post and share their work, with an opportunity to receive feedback and ratings, and to sell their pieces.
Analysis: The deviantART iPhone Web App is excellently designed to fit your iPhone’s screen.
The web app is very user friendly, with a highly appealing design. Take a look…click any photo to enlarge.
The home screen automatically directs you to today’s most popular images. In a "youtube-esque" manner you can switch between New or Popular, and a 24 hour, 3 day, 1 week, 1 month, or All Time time-frame.
The menu presents you with some more detailed subcategories to view images in.
Click on an image to access comments, description, and details.
The Verdict: An excellent find for anyone who enjoys browsing some great art or photography. The things lost between the regular web version and the iPhone version are the ability to sell or purchase prints, read deviantART news, access the forum, and chatting with other viewers. But in reality, the majority of you are just looking at pictures anyway.
What says the…
Geek: May I take this opportunity to personally thank deviantART for making such an iPhone friendly site.
Socialite: Yay! Pictures!
Soccer Mom: Finally, a web app that’s not way over my head.
