The Story: Just because NBC doesn’t sell these shows on iTunes does not mean they forgot about all Apple product users. They have formatted their full episodes into an iPhone compatible Quicktime format. Although you might have thought these videos are streaming – they’re not. The iPhone is actually downloading the file, and you can watch the video while it downloads. However, if you decide to pause the video, you’ll have to restart the whole downloading process.
Furthermore, the video loads rather slowly – but in order to ameliorate the process NBC has broken the episodes down into smaller pieces.
How it looks:
The "Full Episodes" home screen.
Notice each episode has quite a few pieces to it.
The Verdict: NBC put it out there – and we iPhone using Office lovers thank them. If you’re stuck in an airport, waiting for a train, in class, or in a boring meeting, this will come in very handy. However, if you’re trying to really enjoy everything these 2 shows offer, get a TiVo and kick back on your couch.
