Install the "Remote" app from the App Store.
Direct Link to Remote app
Click on Settings

Make sure that you connected to Wifi. Also, your iPhone and Computer with iTunes Library have to be on the same network.
Remember your security code
iTunes (starting with 7.7 version) has a device option

Select your device

Enter Passcode, go to confirmation screen and click ok.

Your iTunes Library will show up on your iPhone
Remote Playlist

Remote more option

Note: After you add your iTunes library, the device icon will disappear since you won’t need it any more. If you’d like to re-enter your code, just go to Settings again, click add library, wait a few seconds and the device icon will appear in iTunes. From this point on just follow the same process described above.
Select your iTunes library
Now you have your own wireless remote for your iTunes library.
You will be able to control your library from anywhere in your house as long as you have Wifi connection and you stay on the same home network.

I need to connect the ipod with a cable to the computer for the device-list to pop up. But even then there’s no option for configuering the remote on the computer. what am i doing wrong?
I could not connect my remote to iTunes at first. Then I looked at my wireless configuration on iPhone. I was not connected to my wireless network. I switched to my wireless network and my iPhone was recognized on iTunes via remote.
I had remote working okay for a day. The next day I tried to use it and when I select the remote icon it looks like it is going to start and then just disappears. Any ideas ? I tried removing and reinstalling and have the same issue.

@ Chris, try restarting your iPhone. Turn it off. Turn it Back on.
I want to display the current track info and album artwork in Full Screen Coverflow mode in iTunes while I use Remote on my iPod. Everything works just fine until I change playlist in Remote then the Coverflow view disappears and the Remote playlist vanishes from the Playlist view in iTunes. I then have to go back to iTunes and go to the current song (ctrl+l), get back to coverflow view (Ctrl+Shift+5) and select full screen mode again (ctrl+f). Everything is fine until you change playlist again. Is there any default view I can set so I
dont have to go through this every time I change playlist?
