The app contains all the functionality of the 2 Across app (which costs $5.99), but with a more limited selection of puzzles. The lite edition allows you to download and solve puzzles from the New York Times, The Onion, and the Sydney Morning Herald. -

First Ad Based App Hits The App Store
Posted on 08/13/2008Balloonacy, developed by Mobile Amusements, was released in the iPhone App Store on August 13th. The app, an accelerometer based game in which you must tilt a balloon through a maze, came with a twist. The app is adwrapped, meaning every time you load the game, you must first go through a series of advertisements. This method of profiting not only ruins the spirit of iPhone gaming, but I am sure it breaks the Terms and Conditions of iPhone developing for the App Store -
Best Buy To Start Selling The iPhone 3G
Posted on 08/13/2008Best Buy will be the only store to carry the iPhone 3G other than Apple and AT&T. Best Buy has snagged an "exclusivity" deal with Apple for the iPhone 3G (exclusivity excluding Apple and AT&T stores). The phone will be available in all of Best Buy's 965 U.S. stores as of September 7th. This should be a great sales boost to Best Buy, whose sales have been in the slums lately with the weak economy. Although their profit margin on the iPhone 3G is rather low, and the hype is starting to die down, there is no denying that fact that this will be a great thing for Best Buy, Apple, AT&T, and of course, you. -
Fire Blazes At Apple’s Cupertino Headquarters
Posted on 08/13/2008A fire broke out late Tuesday night at the Cupertino, California based Apple headquarters. The Santa Clara County Fire Department reported that it was a three alarm blaze, and it burned for over three hours. The fire burned the roof and the second level at one of the campus' six buildings. The fire was extinguished early this morning, and there were no injuries.
