Scott Moritz from Fortune magazine is reporting that Apple has sold 3 million iPhone 3G’s in one month. Whether or not this information is accurate (it came from Michael Cote, an analyst-slash-former-TMobile-executive) is unknown.
However, what we do know is that Apple sold 1,000,000 iPhone 3G’s in the first weekend. We also know that the iPhone 3G is now pretty much readily available in all Apple stores. And now that the device has celebrated its one month birthday, we can definitely assume there have been at least 3,000,000 iPhone 3G’s sold. So Michael Cote can’t be too wrong.
He credits the the iPhone 3G’s success to the device’s price point, consumer enthusiasm, and international sales. "They are seeing unprecedented demand. The demand is so strong it may impact or delay the new countries coming on."
For the iPhone fans:
- 3,000,000 iPhone 3G’s in 1 month
- 700,000 iPhone 3G’s per week
- 100,000 iPhone 3G’s per day
- 4,166 iPhone 3G’ s per hour
- 69 iPhone 3G’s per minute
- 1 iPhone 3G per second
Yep, Apple sells (on average) 1 iPhone 3G per second.
…Damn.
