Getting Things Done With Your iPhone: A Who’s Who in To Dos

The App Store currently has 5 full pages of "productivity" apps, and a number of them perform the same thing: a to do list. However, some of these applications are mere notepads, while others actually help you get things done. Read on to see which To-Do apps will help you avoid procrastination, and which will simply prolong your daily time-wasting.

The following 3 "To Do List" apps are listed in the order of simple, intermediate, and advanced. The latter of the three is made based on David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology, which you can read more about here.

  • "Call a contact" integration
  • iPhone Safari integration
  • Easy to create, edit, manage, delete
  • Add notes (with integrating info i.e. hyperlinks)
  • Custom strike out style
  • Displays number incomplete tasks
  • If you have Tootledo, it is integrated with Jott. And since "Todo" syncs with Tootledo, Jott syncs with Todo. Simply open Jott and say "Tootledo" prior to whatever else you gotta say.

Problems:

  • Overpriced
  • No search capability
  • No calender integration
  • No alarms

So if you’re looking for a To Do list for your iPhone, these 3 are the best. However, it’s up to you to decide how advanced your tasking needs are. If you’re following the GTD methodology, then Todo by Appigo is for you, given that it allows all sorts of integration. Also, iNozbe is coming to the App Store soon, and it’s a To Do application built specifically to accomodate GTD followers. Expect a thorough review when it comes out.
