If you go to look for Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine at your local newsstand next year, you won’t find it. Publisher Thaddeus Computing is suspending the 11-year-old title and replacing it with a new magazine called iPhone Life.
In a statement released by publisher Hal Goldstein, a lack of ad support from Microsoft and other phone companies, coupled with a lack of cooperation from Pocket PC manufacturers to distribute the magazine with their products, decided Smartphone‘s untimely demise. The iPhone market is seemingly more advertising friendly, hence the change.
The final issue of Smartphone will be released in November; the premier issue of iPhone Life will be mailed to Smartphone subscribers this week.
