So just how bad — and how widespread — are the iPhone 3G’s network performance issues?
Wired Magazine would like to know. Even if they have to go global to do it.
The techno-zine has put out a world-wide call for iPhone 3G users to test their 3G and Edge up/download speeds, then report both their results and where they’re doing their testing (by submitting their geographical into to an interactive Zeemap).
Apparently, there’s already been a major influx of testees; Wired reports that high inbound traffic necessitated a server upgrade. Which, when you think about it, is good for their research, but maybe not so good for the iPhone’s tech cred…
