This image described by mac, iTunes, Windows, arrows, iTunes Music Store, disable, Itunesarrows_2

The iTunes Music Store arrows.  You see them everywhere: next to your song titles, beside your artists, uncomfortably close to your genres. Unlike its predecessor, iTunes 8 does not have an option to eliminate those constant reminders of Apple’s blatant commercialism.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a way to banish those arrows for good, manually!  Whether you are running iTunes on Mac or Windows, you do not have to be subjected by those iTunes Music Store Arrows.

Manually eliminating the iTunes arrows on Mac

1. Close out of iTunes

2. Open Terminal

3. Run this command:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links -bool FALSE

4. Open your new, arrow-free version of iTunes

To delete the arrow option completely, run this script in step 3:

defaults delete com.apple.iTunes show-store-arrow-links
