We foolishly left QuickGold off our Ten Reasons to Jailbreak your iPhone list.  Like QuickSilver, QuickGold is a launcher that allows you to find what you need, whether it’s a contact or a bookmark, without thumbing through a string of icons or screens.

 
   

   

 

Features

• Launch QuickGold by simply pressing the Home button
• Search for and launch Apps
• Look for contacts by name, phone number, or email address, then communicate with them in an instant with the tap of your finger
• Type in your favorite web site and hit "Go" to visit it
• View Safari history and bookmarks
• Do an instant Google search by typing in g<keyword>
• Coming soon: access to recently used items and search settings so people can include what they (don’t) want to search for

Limitations

• Inability to search for music or video (Per the developer, adding this feature may bog down QuickGold, hence their reluctance to include it)
• Does not recognize special characters (such as √º)

Summary

If your iPhone is loaded with Apps, contacts, and bookmarks, there is no reason for you not to download this handy launch App.  New features are being added, and suggestions are always welcome by the developer.  We would like to amend our Top Ten List, and make QuickGold yet another reason why you should jailbreak your iPhone.
