The App Store will have some company (competition) soon. Blackberry is expected to debut its Blackberry Application Center in March 2009. Research in Motion will be accepting App submissions starting in December. (One can only wonder what their review process will be like…!)
The Blackberry Application Center is rumored to feature a customizable interface, so users can filter Apps they don't deem appealing. Plus, developers will be receiving an 80% share of the revenue from paid Apps, 10% more than what iPhone developers receive.
It remains to be seen how successful the Blackberry Application Center will be. Plenty of developers are committed to iPhone and the new Android. It may not be a flop but it will certainly take a while for it to reach the same plateau as Apple.
