Slacker For iPhone Now Available From iTunes. Someone Should Tell The Slacker Web Site…

Slacker — the online streaming music station that ISN'T named after a mythological Greek box-opener — now has a free iPhone implementation available:

Listen to unlimited free music on your iPhone.
The free Slacker Radio App gives you access to the entire Slacker music
library featuring millions of songs from thousands of artists. Listen
to over 100 expert programmed radio stations or create your own custom
stations directly on the iPhone.

  • Unlimited free music on your iPhone
  • Over 100 expert-programmed stations
  • High-quality stereo sound over any connection
  • Create your own custom stations directly on your iPhone
  • Displays large album art, album reviews and artist biographies

Like Pandora, Slacker gives you the choice of free but limited access, or or a premium plan (US$3.99 a month) with unlimited skips, unlimited song requests, and no audio or ad banners.  One also wonders if this will cut into sales of Slacker's own G2 portable player/receiver.

Interestingly, Slacker's website still says the iPhone version is "coming soon."  I think it was the Smiths who asked "How Soon Is Now?"

[Available (now!) on iTunes]
