Ever yell at your iPhone because it didn't do what you wanted it to do? Doesn't accomplish anything, does it?
That may change Very Soon Now. Further spelunking in the OS 3.0 beta code has uncovered a component called "Jibbler," which looks like it will provide not just voice synthesis, but also voice recognition. Hands-free voice commands have been sorely lacking in the iPhone to date; this may be the light at the end of that particular tunnel.
No word on whether the vox code will work with older hardware, or if it's lying in wait for the "4G" iPhone.
