JD Power and Associates, the product quality/customer satisfaction research company whose name is most commonly invoked in car commercials, recently weighed in on wireless smart- and "dumb"-phones.
And despite having only one — UNO — phone in their product line, Apple easily took top honors in the smartphone category.
Using a 1,000 point scale, JD Power graded the phones on ease of operation (30% of the total); operating system (22%); features (21%); physical design (18%); and battery function (9%). Apple scored 791, beating out both LG (772) and Samsung (759).
As you can see from the above chart, the only feature that dragged the iPhone down was its battery life. (Good thing they were just judging the phones, and not the wireless carriers as well…)
