The Slingbox is a famous television-streaming device which enables users to remotely view their home's cable, satellite, or personal video recorder from any network-enabled computer (or television). You can learn about SlingMedia and the SlingBox here.
We've long been awaiting the ability to access SlingBox via the iPhone – and tomorrow it will finally be possible. The SlingPlayer Mobile application will be hitting the app store anytime between now and tomorrow morning.
Here's what you need to know:
- $30
- WiFi only (which kinda means that you might as well use your laptop)
- Works with older SlingBoxes too
- Video streams well, screens load slow
The application is excellent, and really pushes your iPhone's limits. Unfortunately, due to AT&T, SlingPlayer Mobile will not be usable over 3G.
