completely off subject but whats the easiest way to get your wallpaper to always show up on the iphone? i’m assuming you did some sort of jailbreaking. thanks. trevor
Your missing the coolest one of all, if youi hold down the home button voice command turns on.
My home button stopped working in the first year I owned my touch and should have been covered under warranty but wasn’t due to a dent not close to the home button which voided warranty according to apple. I even wrote steve jobs and was contacted by regional reps. Anyways I know it is technically possible to go home with out use of button but can’t find an app to do that. If a developer made one they would have lots of buyers like me. As it is now i have to power off and on to get home.
LAME, except for spotlight this has been functional for forever. The only new feature is the voice control and you missed it.
Hello Jeremy,
The home button is connected to the motherboard with a flex cable. This connector has a metal bubble that is pressed by the home button to produce the signal. You just have to check that this flex cable is plugged correctly, or replace it in case it is damaged. You can find a replacement part and a video that explains how to change it here:

This article was meant only for iPhone 3.0 features. Voice control is only available on the iPhone 3GS. So for those that have the iPhone 3G, voice control is not available.
Jeremy i had the same problem untill a minute ago. You need to set a passcode for your iPhone going on settings and iPhone lock….. Then ALWAYS REMEMBER the password because if you forget it you won’t be able to access your phone. Once you set the password everytime you press the sleep button ( on the top of iPhone) your phone will go to “sleep mode” like always. But when you press it again it will ask you for your password. At that point if you insert your password nothing will change and your phone brings you back to the same page youwere looking at. So AT THIS POINT instead of just writing in you password you to FIRST press the EMERGRNCY CALL button that appears next to the numbers. At that point press the arrow to go back to the passcode screen and put your secret 4 digit number (password). Now when you unlock it the MAIN SCREEN (home screen) will appear!!!!!! I red it on ehow….. I hope I was helpful.
I have an iphone 3GS and my iphone does not have a home option under Settings > General
