Today's iPhone app reviews include eTextbooks, USAA, iConcertCal, and Call of Duty: World at War Companion. CourseSmart's eTextbooks for iPhone app allows college students to access entire eTextbooks (that they paid for on www.coursesmart.com) on their iPhones. USAA is the first bank to allow customers to deposit a check simply by photographing the check with their iPhone's and emailing the photos…hence never leaving their office. iConcertCal creates a concert calender based on the stuff in your iPod library, and Call of Duty: World at War Companion lets users stay connected to their game no matter where they are.

USAA is a private bank/insurance company with an iPhone app that has some pretty typical useful bank features…except for one that stands out. What this app does is truly revolutionary. USAA Bank now allows users to use a feature called "Deposit@Mobile", which basically enables customers to deposit a bank check by photographing the front and back of it with the iPhone's camera and sending the image. You won't have to send in the check later, either…just void it. Check out the NYTimes article about it.
Can you imagine the convenience of not having to even go to an ATM machine (let alone the bank) to deposit a check? If it's safe, then it's genius. There are some requirements to be eligible to use Deposit@Mobile. You must (1) be eligible for USAA insurance, (2) have a USAA deposit account, and (3) have a USAA-issued credit card or loan, or be approved for one. All that aside, it's still a great idea.

iConcertCal digs into your iPhone and iTunes library, gets a list of music artists, and uses the list to give you a concert lineup. In other words, your getting a personalized concert calendar with absolutely 0 work done. It's a fantastic application for music fans. It provides a concert calendar (updates itself), links to buy tickets, email reminders (optional), built in map to the venue, links to iTunes store, and more. Great app.

I like the first three apps listed in this article very much! I wish we had ebooks when I was in university – makes for a very light backpack! I love the idea of banking on my iphone, more banks need to step up. And the concert calendar app is fantastic – I miss out on concerts because I’m hearing about them too late. Not anymore though!!
You should add the http://www.bigwords.com iphone app. Bigwords.com is a textbook search engine that searches all the online textbook retailers and rental sites to find you the best prices. Some people still prefer the actual textbook, and searching for them with Bigwords.com is the cheapest way to get them.
