Today's iPhone apps include Ramp Champ, 12Mail Video Messenger, Proloquo2Go, and myStarbucks and the Starbucks Card Mobile.  Ramp Champ brings boardwalk games of skill — and the obsessive collection of prize tickets that goes with it — to your iPhone.  12 Seconds is an enhanced MMS/video messaging app optimized for sharing your vids via Facebook or Twitter.  Proloquo2Go is a speech assistant program that allows those with physical/psychological speech disorders to communicate.  And Starbucks' two apps let you locate your nearest coffeehouse, blend your favorite caffeine creation, and (in select locations) even pay for said cup of wake-up directly from your smartphone.

Ever spend way too much time playing boardwalk skeeball, hoping to rack up enough prize tickets to earn something more substantial than a pencil eraser?  Then Ramp Champ is for you.  Use a fingerswipe to roll balls up the ramp and knock over the targets.  Take 'em out in the least amount of time and/or the correct order, and those tickets will just spew out of your iDevice.  (And yes, one of the available prizes is a Twitter bird…)  There are already two expansion packs available for US$0.99 each, with more to come.

Aren't you glad AT&T finally turned on your iPhone's MMS functionality?  12Seconds.tv is.  Their free app lets you easily post those handheld videos to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as send those vids to other 12Mail users.  It's kind of the video equivalent of TwitPic in that you don't even need a handheld device — you can upload videos from your computer through their website as well.

A highly specialized program, with a price tag to match, Proloquo2go is a full-featured communication solution that turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device: touch the buttons to assemble a sentence, which is then sent to a text-to-speech converter.  It's intended for those with disabilities such as autism, strokes, cerebral palsy, or any other medical condition that affects the ability to speak clearly.

Gentleman, start your "Starbucks is taking over the world" conspiracy theories: the now-ubiquitous coffee company, always an early adapter of anything cool and/or geeky, have digitized the "grande frappacino" experience with a pair of free iPhone apps.  myStarbucks acts as a store locator, custom drink builder, and food and beverage menu (with nutritional info and ingredients).  The Starbucks Card Mobile lets you monitor your card's balance, reload it from a credit card, and — in Seattle and select California cities, for now — lets you pay directly from your iPhone via a scan-able onscreen bar code.
