R.I.P. Ripdev. Yes folks, the popular iPhone jailbreaking company has shutdown. For the uninitiated, Ripdev were the brains behind the "Installer",an iPhone app store that was launched even before Apple's own app store.
While Ripdev doesn't disclose the reasons behind their closure, many cite irreconcilable issues with their business partners. Of course no one can be sure though Ripdev did post the following message on their website"
"It's been a great two years, but unfortunately, the time has come for Ripdev to close its doors. There are many reasons for this, most of which we probably will never disclose (unless we are forced to). The important thing is that due to circumstances we will likely be unable to support the titles we have created over the years further."
The company assures that existing customers will get all the tech support via the Cydia Store till next year and they have also outsourced their popular product Icy to enable future development.
