Envious of those new iPod Nano's with their built-in FM tuners? Want the same functionality in your current iDevice?
Surprise! It may already be there.
Turns out your iPhone or iPod already has an FM tranceiver built into it — but unless you're using the Nike+ widget, it hasn't been doing squat. Word out of Cupertino is that the House of Jobs is readying an FM tuner app that will finally wake the dormant radio hardware.
This wouldn't be the first time Apple has included "sleeper agent" hardware in their devices: the iPod Touch 2G had Bluetooth capabilities that didn't get turned on until nine months after its release, and we're still watiing for Uncle Steve to activate 802.11N wireless networking.
