If you thought only the iPhone had the market share when it comes to online traffic, then think again. According to mobile advertising firm AdMob, devices running on Android are catching up fast and are now accounting for a fifth of mobile traffic in the US.
Android's rise is quite impressive and the launch of new devices like Droid, which now represents 24% of the traffic in the Android network, is one of the contributing factor. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about Palm (only 1%) whose claim to fame this year was just the Pre.
We never really questioned the popularity of Android (thus all the coverage here) but we must say, we are quite impressed by its rapid growth.
