According to the rumor mill, Samsung is also jumping on the Android bandwagon and ending its love affair with Windows Mobile. Analyst Greg Noh from HMC Investment Securities is of the opinion that Samsung will move from 80% Windows Mobile usage to 50% in 2010 and by the year 2012 only 20% of Samsung smartphones will run on WM OS (ouch that hurts).
It is clear that Samsung is serious about moving away from the Windows Mobile platform as the mobile giants will also launch their own Linux-based smartphone operating system called "Bada". Bada means ocean in Korean and will be an open platform too. Samsung's move highlight how impactful the iPhone and the Android OS have been in revolutionizing the entire mobile OS landscape and from here onwards things will definitely get interesting.
