It's no secret that Apple and Google don't play nice together, so it won't surprise us that Apple bypasses Google completely in the future when it comes to its Maps application.
Apart from acquiring a mapping company called Placebase, an Apple job listing suggests that the company is serious about developing their own mapping technology.
The job listing reads as follow:
"We want to take Maps to the next level, rethink how users use Maps and change the way people find things. We want to do this in a seamless, highly interactive and enjoyable way. We've only just started."
Curios choice of words especially the phrase "next level", as it indicates that Apple will be attempting something new and exciting. So what do you think? Was this expected from Apple or do you think they should stick to Google Maps?
