Apple has created a special page on the iTunes store which gives you quick access tO all the hot apps and games that made an impact in 2009. From what we have seen it looks like Apple has compiled this list on the basis of revenue as it is quite strange that the bestsellers are not inexpensive and costs around $5 or more.
If you look at the apps list you will see that iPhone users have no problem spending 100 bucks since the Navigon and TomTom apps are in the same range. It is also clear that GPS based apps are quite popular. However it is nice to see that a free app like TextFree also made the cut.
In addition two musical apps from Smule made a list.
On the gaming front, rather than franchise titles it is the smaller gaming publishers which are dominating the list. The fantastic Spider: The Secret of Bruce Manor is on the top and of course no list is complete without the SIMS!
