Still not too sure about the gigantic hot mess Apple is calling the iPad?
But there is no denying that one of the most redeeming factor of the iPad is that its users won’t be tied down in a 2-year contract with AT&T or any other cellular network.
Then comes the question of iPad unlocking. Since the iPad isn’t really T-Mobile 3G friendly as it is equipped with a UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz) and GSM/EDGE (850, 900,1800, 1900 MHz) modem. So theoretically, iPad can be unlocked to work on TMobile but only at EDGE speeds.
This also leads to the question if the iPad can be jailbroken? Since it is running on a modified version of the iPhone OS, it is quite a possibility.
There are a number of Apple zealots who spend countless hours to jailbreak what isn’t mean to be jailbroken and unlocked (and we love them for that). So if the incredible Dev Team or the legendary George Hotz (Geohot) is reading this, we request you to work your magic on the iPad.
Who knows maybe the device will actually become more interesting once it become jailbroken. No question, we can find a lot of reasons to jailbreak iPad.
