In what could only be described as a case of someone growing up with just a bit too much fondness for the old Dick Tracy two-way wrist radios, Canada's Helium Digital has unveiled the HDBT-990 Wristband Communicator.  Yep, it's a BlueTooth speaker/mic combo you wear on your wrist.  No, we're not sure why, either.

Helium Digital insists the unit "provides hands-free communication for
an active lifestyle. It is perfect for use while running, biking, golfing, or many
other activities for which a standard BlueTooth headset may not be suitable."  Um, seriously, which of these activities would a Borg earpiece really, truly be unsuitable for?

Scheduled to ship at the beginning of February, the HDBT-990 will set you back CN$89.99, or about US$87.00 in "real" money.
