Engadget is hinting that Apple's big January 27th Frisco media event won't just be to unveil an iTablet. Oh, no — there will also be the announcement of iPhone OS 4.0. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! We may even see a new version of iLife the same day.
Again: this is all hearsay at the moment. But when you mull it over, it kinda makes sense: Apple's products have always appealed to the fun/creative side of the brain, rather than the business/pragmatic side that MS/IBM/Wintel courted. And this sort of triple-header of hardware, software, and OS has the added attraction of a unified package that, in theory (to quote the old Macintosh tagline), just works, right out of the box.
