When it comes to the iPad, count Bill Gates in the "oh no, it does not move me" camp.
Interviewed by Bnet, the former Microsoft prexie-turned-philanthropist — despite a past than included various forms of tablet-computer evangelism, and a current love of the iPhone — pretty much shrugged off Uncle Steve's shiny new toy:
‚ÄúYou know, I‚Äôm a big believer in touch and digital reading, but I still think that some mixture of voice, the pen and a real keyboard – in other words a netbook – will be the mainstream on that…So, it‚Äôs not like I sit there and feel the same way I did with iPhone where I say, ‚ÄòOh my God, Microsoft didn‚Äôt aim high enough.‚Äô It‚Äôs a nice reader, but there‚Äôs nothing on the iPad I look at and say, ‚ÄòOh, I wish Microsoft had done it.‚Äô‚Äù
Then again, this is the man who, back in 1981, was (jokingly) credited with saying "Oh, 640K [of RAM] should be enough for everyone."
