If this isn't serious nerd cred, we don't know what is.
Linus Torvalds — who created the open-source Unix variant known as Linux — just got his hands on a Nexus One. And he loves it.
Now, Torvalds is not a huge fan of cell phones in general (he considers them irritating and intrusive), and has been underwhelmed by the G1 and other Android also-rans (even though they're based on his OS). But the promise of pinch-to-zoom and Google Navigation was finally enough to sway him:
What a difference! I no longer feel like I'm dragging a phone with me
"just in case" I would need to get in touch with somebody – now I'm
having a useful (and admittedly pretty good-looking) gadget instead.
The fact that you can use it as a phone too is kind of secondary.
