Zune as a music player failed to take on the almighty iPod but let see if its phone avatar may have better luck. Industry insiders are rife with speculation that Microsoft will unleash the Zune Phone on the masses sooner thane expected, so expect the battle lines to be drawn. In fact some are of the opinion that the Powers of Be at the Microsoft HQ are seeing the Mobile World Congress 2010 as the apt place for its debut.
The Zune Phone will come equipped with a 480 x 272 screen and will run on the good Windows Mobile 7 OS. Weighing around 2.45 ounces, the smartphone will also feature HDMI video out and incorporate hardware like Tegra from Nvidia.
Looks like 2010 will be an eventful year for tech heads. Since Apple is getting complacent with the iPhone (admit it, the last update, the 3GS was less the stellar ) we hope some competition will stir things up. Of course it goes without saying that Jobs and his cronies will take things in their stride as they don't even consider Android as a threat since Jobs famously once said:
"We did not enter the search business. They entered the phone business. Make no mistake they want to kill the iPhone. We won't let them." He also promised aggressive upgrades to the iPhone that neither Android nor Google could match".
Some call it arrogance but we like to see it as confidence!
