Distimo, an App Store analytics company, has revealed their figures for April 2010, the month of the iPad's launch (April 3rd).
The figures show that App developers are quickly jumping on the iPad. As of April 26, 3,437 Apps were already available exclusively for the device. That's right, these aren't iPhone or iPod Touch Apps; these are just for the iPad. If you factor in Apps that are available across both platforms, it comes out to 4,870.
The iPhone is also seeing continued growth as 184,981 Apps are available and the data shows continued growth through the month of April.
Have a look at the charts below:
Also, and not surprisingly, most of the Apps on the iPad are games, a little over 1,500 of them. Entertainment ranks in at second by a long shot with 455 Apps.
The iPad is also seeing a higher percentage of paid Apps than the iPhone and iPod Touch are, where 80 percent of the Apps are paid, while 73 percent of the iPhone Apps are paid as indicated below:
Now that the 3G-enabled iPad has landed, and those who didn't already get their wifi-only model are getting their hip new gadgets in, it's time for the real fun to start. Rest assured, according to this data, you will have plenty to choose from.

I’m looking forward more toward apps revised to take full advantage of the iPad screen size as well as new apps. It should be a very exciting summer as development ramps up.
