Adult Swim has ported over the post-modern condition of contemporary comedy to an iPhone game. This time, it only costs you $0.99. Vending Machine Champ, one of Adult Swim's most recent attempts to find something funny out of the irrelevance of life, is a game that pits you against a vending machine. You start with a lift and then head into number strikes against the machine itself. If you do well the fight will continue on, and if you make a series of missteps you may shatter the front class and lose a hand. This is all done in an Olympic inspired ring with the crowd cheering and a medal system to award your success. Over all there really is not much to Vending Machine Champ. The concept is vaguely funny, like most of the Adult Swim iPhone games, but the execution seems a little off. There is something significantly different that making a series of ironic jokes and crafting something that is a substantially fun game. It is one thing to see ads on Adult Swim for one of these strange iPhone games, and it is another to shell out a buck for it. Vending Machine Champ is by no means a terrible iPhone game, but it seems that with the craftsmanship that was obviously put into it there could have been a little more fun attached as well. Go ahead and try the free version of Vending Machine Champ before you drop any coin on it.
