On the heels of Google's announced Chrome Web App Store, today's bombshell from Google I/O in Frisco — piggybacked onto the announcement of Android 2.2 — is a new Music section in the Android Market. Yep, iTunes "open source" flavor. And it ties in with plans to download apps from the Android Market over the web and have them automatically download to your Android phone as well. So it's iTunes with cloud-based autosyncing.
That's not all: Google's recent purchase of Simplify Media will allow you to access, via your Android phone, all the (non-DRM) media on your desk computer. That alone could be a game-changer.
(Then again, Google's LAST "(insert Apple product here) killer" was the Nexus One, so we're taking a wait-and-see attitude…)
