Apple’s App Hyperwall at the WWDC

It is the App Hyper wall at WWDC 2010 celebrating 5 million apps downloaded. 

The wall shows the top 50,000 apps in the App Store across a bank of 30 24-inch LED Cinema Displays. As each app is downloaded it falls into a color-coordinated stack  across the displays. Once the display hits 10,800 apps, it resets and starts over with app downloads.

Last year on a smiler wall each time an app was purchased, it would pulse.

There were “only” 50,000 apps at the time, and Apple couldn’t show them all on the display, then. Now there are over 225,000 apps.
