Some of us have never been great fans of wallpaper. Sure, we went through a phase where we searched them out and downloaded them, but usually we found ourselves returning to the default images. There was something so simple and efficient about them.
A corner got turned on the iOS4. Now we've come to view wallpapers as moments we want to see everyday. The change is difficult to quantify, it probably is something simple, something to do with the ability to assign the homescreen and lock screen each an image. It does feel as if the iOS 4 has finally moved the iPhone forward in a very real way, past all the 'yes, but's.
For lock screen we use our own pics, but for a home page you almost have to use a different style as many images have too much going on, and it's too easy to lose icons on the screen. It's something we discovered playing with wallpapers on the iPad; don't choose anything too busy for the home screen!
Just try taking close up shots of things you like, having them as wallpaper will remind you of them everyday. Our examples are below, share links to your own in the comments if you like.
