And you thought there was some creative surgery going on in THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Centipede)…

Ars Technica has the story of an enterprising bloke who works for a Dish Network reseller, loves his iPad, but hates the AT&T 3G service.  His solution?  Rip out the AT&T 3G card and replace it with the guts of  a Verizon MiFi.  The result is a Verizon-compatible iPad which doubles as a four-device wireless router.  The only downside is the loss of GPS functionality and lower sound quality due to cutting the 'Pad's resonating chamber in half.

Feel adventurous?  Couldn't give a rat's patoot about the iPad's warranty?  Grab a soldering iron and an Exacto knife and follow his step-by-step instructions here (http://dishtvhdstore.com/ipad-mifi-conversion-for-verizon/).  The hacker also vows his next project will be "Verizon in an iPhone…On second thought, I'll leave that one to Steve!"
