So it turns out the iPhone 4 has this, um, silly little problem –
y’know, the one where if you hold the damn thing the wrong way, it’ll drop
a call? Yeah, that one. ‘Cuz SOMEBODY thought it’d be a cool idea
to build the phone’s antenna into that dinky wraparound strip of metal.
So
unless you’re an anal-retentive Bluetooth earpiece user – or an X-Men
member with telekinetic powers – how the HELL do you hold an i4 without
touching the antenna?
Apple’s official response to iPhone 4.0 reception issues:
Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna
performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on
the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless
phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it
in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black
strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases. <– via Engadget
There, Apple, I Fixed It! Attenuation of its antenna
performance my arse.
You’re welcome, Apple.
Note: small piece of transparent
tape will also work. But you know, big problems require big solutions.
if you are looking for more radical solution, just wrap your iphone in
duct tape
