It is strange how randomly moving balls always seem to fit perfectly well on the iPhone! Ball Hut is a moderately fun new free iPhone game that has been marketed toward children, but could really be great for anyone depending on their reading level. There is no concrete objective to Ball Hut except that you have a whole host of different balls, depending on what preference you decide in the settings. You can tap to create new balls and can double tap to simple reset the ball count and drop them back from the top. The balls in Ball Hut respond to the shaking of the iPhone so they will go all over the place, but you cannot shake it to hard as the sensors will not be able to match it at vigorous speeds. The idea of Ball Hut is really for just a random distraction, and the iTunes' App Store page for it likens gameplay to "popping bubble wrap." This seems like a fair estimate for a title like Ball Hut, but that does not mean that it doesn't deliver. In its own strange way it does what it promises perfectly. There are banner ads at the top that you must avoid, but this is not foreign to most free iPhone games. If a younger child does want a fun little toy for long car rides then Ball Hut will also match this need. Maybe even not so young.
