HP Says that Slate is Still Alive

I'm still here!

This morning HP officially confirmed that their slate is still alive and in the works, but details are scant. 

Engadget was able to get in touch with the company and a spokesperson from HP's Personal Systems group told them that the company is "in customer evaluations now and will make a determination soon on the next steps."

This fits with some reports of HP's official website showing a Windows 7 HP Slate 500 yesterday and with HP Taiwan's reports from a while back, which iSmashPhone reported on. 

The iPad, which would then be a direct competitor to the HP Slate, has already had a three month head start and has sold 3.27 million since launch.
