Yes, you read that headline correctly. Microsoft is running some sort of focus tests on iPad users. Word of this comes from a Facebook post by the Redmond-based company.
Between July 16 and July 23, they will have a group of volunteer iPad users on their Redmond campus. They will have users for 2-hour blocks as they study their use of Apple's device.
The most obvious answer is that MS is considering creating their own gadget to compete with the iPad. They may also just want to run the tests to improve future versions of their own operating system. There is no telling right now.
Here's the description as reported by TechCrunch:
Microsoft User Research is looking for iPad owners for an upcoming study to get feedback. This study will be two hours long and will take place on the Microsoft Redmond campus with a number of dates and times between Friday, July 16th and Wednesday, July 21st.
In appreciation for your time, each participant will be offered a Microsoft gratuity item.
