Mini Review: Spawn Glow

Spawn Glow

With iPhone iOS 4 the wallpaper that used to only show up on the welcoming screen before you unlocked your iPhone is now standing behind all of your applications on the iPhone desktop.  The likelihood is that people are going to now begin releasing iPhone wallpaper applications in a huge flurry, even if iPhone wallpaper applications do not tend to be worth that much.

In this atmosphere Spawn Glow has hit the top free iPhone application spot at the iTunes' App Store, even though it does almost nothing.  When you open up Spawn Glow you will first be inundated with a pop up menu pitching some of their pay applications under the guise of a Summer Special of cheap iPhone applications.  Once you get past this you will get another list of apps from the developer that you must then Continue past.  When you do get into the actual content of Spawn Glow you will have a series of colors and designs that dance very quickly against a black background.  Yes, this can be somewhat interesting, for a few minutes.

The main point of this is to take a screenshot of this to use as a free iPhone wallpaper.  As a free iPhone wallpaper Spawn Glow may be nice, but it barely stands up as a free iPhone application in its own right.  Banner ads show up once in a while and would obviously ruin your free iPhone wallpaper.  Over all this is not a great app, even among the free iPhone wallpaper applications.  Spawn Glow may be a free iPhone application, but at this point this should not be a justification for downloading it.
