Sources as geographically distant as mainland China and Great Britain are hinting that a major refresh of the iPod Touch is en route this September — and a front-facing camera is Numero Uno on the list of rumored upgrades.
MacRumors reports that Chinese trade site Alibaba.com is displaying what purport to be next-gen iTouch LCD's and digitizers with a big honkin' hole in the center of the front panel — a logical place to park a front-facing camera. (Which begs the question: why wasn't the front cam on the iPhone 4 centered as well? Simple: that's where the earpiece is — 'cuz, y'know, it'a a phone.)

Apple, meanwhile, is too busy putting out iPhone 4 public-relation fires to confirm or deny any of this…
