Symantec and F-Secure, who specialize in OS security have issued warnings of the latest trojan to hit the Android OS. This one is called Tap Snake, which is simply a free game that plays like the classic "Snake."

The App actually be used to monitor a user's location. As mentioned in the warnings, the "game" can be used as a client for a $4.99 app called GPS Spy on the Android platform. The user of the Tap Snake game, can unknowingly be tracked.

This isn't the first trojan for Android, and it surely won't be the last. Sometimes, Apple's tight control over their products (though we admit its a love/hate relationship) can work for the better of many users.

A few weeks ago, we reported on a virus for the Android OS, which sent SMS messages without the user's knowledge. Before that there was concern over a wallpaper app, but that one turned out to be a false alarm.
