Elected officials in the City of Williamsburg, VA are going paperless. Their tool of choice for city meetings? The iPad.
We have some mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the intentions seem noble, as it seems that the city is aiming to go green and use less paper. However, we aren't sure well they will put the devices to use. Because of the digital format, it seems entirely possible that they city should be able to post the PDFs on their official website, as well as allow other iPad users to take their devices to city meetings and follow through the agenda on their iDevice. If this is the case, it may help provide additional transparency as well.
