Planetbeing of the iPhone Dev-Team has announced via Twitter that their iPhone 4 unlock is set for release in 48 hours.
This will happen after some private beta testing, says Planetbeing. Unlocking, for those who may not know, is modifying the phone's software in order to allow it to run on unofficial carriers (as in "I don't do AT&T.")
DMCA was recently updated to include a revision that clarified the federal government's stance on unlocking the iPhone or other such devices. Some who were on the fence may have wondered about the legalities of modifying their device, may find comfort in the recent revisions.
