Google has answered back, and is calling Oracle's lawsuit baseless. They claim that Java is open-source and "goes beyond any one corporation."
Oracle recently filed a lawsuit against Google, alleging that the Android OS infringes on some of Oracle's patents and copyrights relating to Java software. Google isn't going in without a fight. They issued an official statement, which can be read below, and gave their input on the matter:
We are disappointed Oracle has chosen to attack both Google and the open-source Java community with this baseless lawsuit. The open-source Java community goes beyond any one corporation and works every day to make the web a better place. We will strongly defend open-source standards and will continue to work with the industry to develop the Android platform.
