iOS 4.1 Beta 3 was released to developers earlier this week, and it adds FaceTime compatibility with an option within the "Contacts" App to either start the chat using a phone number or an email address. This is interesting because it may mean that Apple is hoping to add FaceTime compatibility with non-phone devices, such as the iPad and iPod Touch.
As it is, we have already seen what may be photos of an iPod Touch with a camera function as well as hints of iPads with a built-in camera.
MacRumors reports that the next-gen iPod Touch may be announced to the public next month, though there has been no confirmation by Apple.
