NOOK Released for iPhone, iPad B&N eReader Rebranded

Barnes & Noble has just announced the release of their NOOK App for the iPhone. Meanwhile, the generically named B&N eReader for the iPad has been rebranded to carry the NOOK name. It seemed a bit odd as to why they would go that route in the first place, but at least it now carries the more familiar name.

The cool thing is that it supports many of the features of the NOOK, such as book lending and samples. You can let friends from your contacts list borrow your books, which right now puts this App a step above what the Kindle App is doing.
