iOS users may have one less problem to worry about right now. A vulnerability in Adobe's Flash and their Reader software can be used to crash the computer that it's hosted on or allow for malicious software to be installed on a system. However, Adobe notes that Flash is the only software being exploited. Know that this hole will also be a problem in Flash for Android. Flash Player 10.1.82.76 and earlier are affected, and that includes all versions: Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris and Android. That also includes Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and lower for Windows and Mac. Reader 9.3.4 is noted for Linux, but none of the lower versions are mentioned.
It's being reported that Adobe is talking to security partners and sharing information to bring fixes, and an update should be available the week of September 27 for Flash. The Acrobat update should be available during the week of October 4.
