It's being reported that Apple is in talks with publishers to negotiate pricing plans for subscriptions through a digital newsstand.
The rumored newsstand would function much like iBooks does, being separate from the iTunes store. One of the major hold-ups right now is Apple and the content providers coming to an agreement on revenue splits, reports say.
If people are willing to pay for news content through such an App, we are curious to see how it will affect regular web content and its ad sales. Still, given the income from web advertising (trust us, it's not as high as you may think) some bigger publications may be forced to pursue options with subscription plans.
